UPGRADING WORKS

Dengan dukacitanya (or sukacita) ingin saya memaklumkan kepada pengunjung FP saya ini, ada beberapa kerja-kerja mengupgrade to make me serve you and my future clients better. So, to my previous three clients, please be patient, I will try to complete the orders as fast as I can.

NIZAR DAH TUNANG

Lepas sorang... sorang. Last August, Zaidi... bebaru ni, Nizar's turn. Masuk this week, dah 2 kali aku turun Perak. Last week was Erwan's wedding. Pictures will be uploaded soon.
Benda-benda camni yang membuatkan aku seronok jadi wedding photographer. Aku ikut Nizar's family pun saja-saja seronok ja. Kenai Nizar ni since primary school lagi di SRKSP, then moved to PFS, then to UiTM. Cuma dia UiTM Shah Alam, aku sangkut kat UiTM Penang. But we've been close friends, and he was my 'Doctor Love' bila aku dilanda masalah-masalah cinta. And during raya every year, rumah dia wajib pegi, makan nasik. Tahun ni aku tak pi, dan itu telah membuatkan raya aku tahun ni tak lengkap pasai aku tak makan nasik pak dia and papedom mak dia goreng. Btw, just a bit of advertising, pak dia berniaga kat Gelugor dekat ngan pejabat pos Gelugor.
This is the best part of being a photographer. I got to travel. Last week, dapat ikut another good friend of mine to Parit. Memang tadak apa sangat Parit tu, but at least, I get to see new places. Travelling is good, but it is not cheap. Skarang cheap la kot, minyak dah turun RM1.80 seliter.
Tak banyak gambar kat sini. Just want to share with other ex-Frees and hopefully penuh la sikit comments aku for this entry.  To Nizar and Zai, congratulations. Aku doakan hang cepat sah jawatan hang, lepas tu, mau kawin turuih. Selamaaiiittt.

Another super old entry. I'm having some problem with all the file management, and my PC is running on 512MB. Go figure.
Suhardy, atau nama lainnya, Edi, was my senior in PFS. Tak banyak aku dapat snap events at a hotel. So, peluang digunakan sebaik mungkin untuk menghasilkan shot-shot yang terbaik, walaupun aku hanyalah seorang back-up kepada En. Ridhuan.
Make up session held in a suite at the top floor of the hotel. Got a chance to see Georgetown from the top. Bangga jadi orang Penang, tinggal di negeri yang dikelilingi laut.
Resepsi Edi dan Maria diadakan dengan penuh adat istiadat, sekali dengan silat and nobat. Kompang tak sure, ada gak rasanya. Just that I missed the shot as my OP suruh cover kat dalam hall. Many VIPs attended this wedding as bapa kepada pengantin laki pun ada gelaran Dato' gak.
So, overall, I had a good time and my shots are pleasing (to my eyes.... to those out there, kalau rasa tak elok, lantaklah). I did my best and my shots are all subjectives. Moments is what I'm looking for when I trigger the shutter button.

RESEPSI JUNAIDI & SURAYA | Dewan Seri Pinang, Georgetown

Last entry of Suraya & Junaidi. Reception held in Dewan Seri Pinang, my first ever reception held there. The place was nice, setting pun cantik.
Enjoy some of the pics. Nanti aku upload more on my flickr. Banyak lagi benda nak kena buat ni. Album diorang tak finalize lagi.
I have to say, today is the day where I really sweat my pants off being a wedding photographer. Wonder if I am really a wedding photographer now? Up to you out there to judge me. I did my best to become one, and I believe that I am one now, because that is what I want to do since I first got my dSLR. Actually, before I got one, that is what I want to do, shoot weddings.

Aku pun tak sure samada aku patut post or not this entry. But I will surely remember this solemnization. Mad me terfikir sejenak a few things. Nothing to do with the bride and groom tho. Sometimes, we can plan so hard, so detail, tapi... it is not us to decide if it will be executed or not. Hence, that is when the phrase "kita merancang, Allah menentukan" comes in.

A tiny winy hiccup yang merosakkan habih program semua orang, including me. Since semua orang bersemangat and didn't want to give up, aku pun mulalah menelefon semua orang yang aku kenai that can handle a DSLR. Sayangnya, hirauan pertolongan aku tak dipandang sirius. Pada masa itulah, a friend that I've known for almost 15 years yang sanggup datang membantu. Thank you so much and the bride's family pun amat-amat berterima kasih kat hang.

Everything went well. And the couple are now happily married and living 5 floors above my place in Penang. Aku pulak dok peram gambar-gambar diorang, dan sebelum diorang tekan button lift tu and turun pi tingkat 4 ketuk pintu rumah aku asking for her album, baik aku stop and continue perabih buat album.
Wait for my next entry of their reception lak.

MAJLIS BERINAI SURAYA SHAIK DAWOOD | Batu Uban, Penang

Aku tak pernah tau what is Majlis Berinai before I started mengambil gambar orang kahwin ni. Ingatkan majlis berinai ni majlis ramai-ramai orang pakai inai. Punyalah buta adat aku ni, therefore I think it's a good thing aku buat kerja mengambil gambar ni.
Majlis was held on the 2nd of Syawal. The next day is the akad and reception. One challenging thing about this majlis ialah, kehadiran videographer and his external lighting. Tak pernah encounter situasi macam ni. Because everytime he shoots, gambar aku nanti jadi warm, due to his external lights. So I guess shooting in RAW really helps.
So, selesai mengshoot, aku pun balik. Usually, kalau shoot malam ni, balik memang penat, tambah dah selesai malam, the next morning nak kena keluar pi shoot lagi. But luckily this time, aku takyah nak drive balik. Huhuhuhu. Pi tekan button lift, then turun tingkat 4 sebab Suraya ni neighbour aku. and her mom and my mom are really good friends.
So, that's all from me. I think this is the first time aku upload gambar from a Majlis Berinai. More hard work the next day. I wonder why people thinks this job is easy. It's really a tiring job, but since I'm enjoying it, no complaints coming out from me.
So tu saja for now. Wait for the next entry of their wedding reception.

ENGAGEMENT NORHAFIZAH & AHMAD SHARIMI | Ayer Itam, Penang

3rd day of raya, aku rush ke Ayer Itam for an engagement ceremony. Got this assignment from a very former client/coursemate after showing my album at school. Marketing thru former client ni ternyata berkesan. Bila dah sampai ke lokasi, I said to myself, "rasa macam pernah datang sini dulu". So, takpalah, aku masuk rumah, buat kerja aku. Kenal-kenal dengan tuan rumah, and sempat pekena nasik ngan gulai ikan masin yang sememangnya best. Lama tak makan gulai ikan masin.
Salah satu keperluan nak mengambil gambar orang kahwin/tunang or anything what-so-ever, is to get to know who's who. Sapa emak pengantin, sapa bapak pengantin, ada abang ka, ada adik ka, and so on. So aku pun bertanya la kat si Fizah,
"Mak you mana?", and si Fizah lak jawab,
"Sat dia turun. Dia dok bersiap kat atas". So, oklah, aku pun teruskan mengambil gambar. After a while, Fizah called me, nak introduce aku kat mak dia. Elok mak dia pusing, sekali aunty aku daaaaa.
Barulah terjawab the question I asked myself earlier. Dulu masa arwah maktok Esah aku dok ada lagi, on the 1st day of raya, kami nanti datang this house. But that was masa aku darjah 1 or 2 kot. So, 2-in-1 nya assignment la nie, amik gambar orang bertunang and beraya dengan distanced relatives. So after dah tau yang aku ni related, riuh rendah la sikit dok bertanya khabar, mak sehat ka... bapak dok keja lagi ka... adik skarang belajaq kat mana, aku buat apa skarang... and macam-macam lagi lah, which requires me to pikiaq and re-call the past. But after that, my job as the OP becomes easier as semua orang tak rasa kekok.
Rombongan pihak lelaki arrived a bit late, due to the heavy traffic on the Penang Bridge. But everything went well. Aku pun sempat snap all the required pictures and rushed to another event. Congratulations to the couple and harap support me in this industry.

Di kala semua umat Islam tengah berpuasa last November, aku sempat lagi keluar untuk snap gambar orang kahwin. Bukan senang untuk seorang Melayu di Pulau Pinang ini untuk mengambil gambar perkahwinan pasangan Cina. Dan job ini bukan job aku pun. Aku pun taktau boleh ke tidak aku publish kat FP ni sebab aku check FP tokey yang dapat job nie, dia pun tak upload-upload lagi. Mungkin dia sibuk dengan ahli keluarga baru .
Anyway, seronok shoot the lovely couple. Vincent is really cool and dia tak control. He did all the things yang dia dipaksa buat during the tea ceremony. Best gak chinese wedding ni. Ada permainan menganiaya orang. And the questions yang the bride's mate dok tanya kat the groom, I managed to understand sedikit sebanyak. Ada guna gak rupanya aku amik Mandarin dulu kat ITM. Tapi paham-paham gitu je la.
As for Sook Ping, one word describes her best, bubbly, which makes all the photographying job a whole lot easier. So, next time I shoot a wedding, kena make sure the couple get all bubbly.
Penat shoot this wedding, even though aku and the rest shoot in a very cold hall, tapi sebab time shoot is during the month of Ramadhan, and the food was an eight course lunch, memang agak meleleh gak la air liur. Tapi semua orang berjaya buat kerja dengan baik.
So, thank you Mr. Jijan for allowing me to tag along (aku dah kata dah kan, bukan job aku pun), and congrates on the new born baby.

Faris and Yani's wedding was held at the place yang aku dah jemu pi time keja dulu. Almost every week, you can see my face there on a Tuesday at 10am. But the place really turned out well, and memang sesuai for couples like Faris and Yani.
Faris was my school mate in PFS. He sat next to me in class masa Form 4. 4 Baiduri. I have a good memory when it comes to remembering nostalgic schooling days. Belakang aku was Ierman and belakang Faris was Ismail. All four of us came from the same primary school gak, SRK Seri Permai, tapi time tu, I wasn't that close with them pasai aku dulu tak sama kelas dengan diorang bertiga. Diorang golongan elit time tu, kelas bebudak pandai. Aku ni tak la cerdik sangat time sekolah dulu. But we became close during our time in PFS. So I was expecting a small Seri Permai re-union, tapi tak ramai yang showed up. Aswad and Azali (who was also my back-up that day) yang ada kot. Ada la a few other more, tapi aku tak jumpa diorang.
One thing I will remember about this wedding is the 8 (yes... I said EIGHT) Secret Recipe (again... yes, I said SECRET RECIPE) cakes Faris bought for the cake cutting ceremony. Disebabkan kek tu semua, aku pun hilang focus time nak shoot.
I wish you all the best and hopefully Faris will get a job that doesn't require him leave his wife at home for months long time. Tak baik wei tinggal bini lama-lama kat rumah.

Sungguh lama aku memeram gambar-gambar si Arzlie ni. Minta ampun ya. Nak siapkan album, lepas tu nak upload pulak, alamat memang lagi lambat la nak buat album tu.
For this reception, aku berkobar-kobar mengambil gambar diorang and really looked forward for it sebab the groom told me that DSAI will be attending the reception. Sampai hire back up photographer/videographer untuk aku. But in the end, dia tak datang. Mungkin sebab location kot. Kalau nama dewan tu Dewan Wan Azizah, dia datang la agaknya. Tapi ni nama dewan, Dewan Pak Lah. Huhuhuhu, biarlah ahli politik dengan labu-labunya.
